2022 KOICA Country Training Program, “Public Audit Management” (05/2022)
From 12 to 20 May 2022, ‘Public Audit Management’, the first training of KOICA Country Training Programs for 2022 was conducted as online training, in Golden Tulip Hotel, Dar es Salaam. The training aimed at exposing government officials from the Office of the Controller and Auditor General of Zanzibar (OCAGZ) to public audit management. It was operated by the Board of Audit and Inspection (BAI) of the Republic of Korea.
Trainees learned various things such as the public audit system of Korea, audit procedures and quality assurance, the role of the BAI in the process of economic growth, and forensic audit methodologies. Also, they made an action plan by groups to present on the last day of training.
One of the trainees of the training who is a supervisor at OCAGZ, Mr. Salum Suleiman Ali, said the program has imparted new experience to external auditors from Zanzibar on improving audits of public funds and projects. And he mentioned that the other important lesson was on pre-consulting audit services which are conducted in Korea for major projects before and during their implementation.
KOICA office hopes this training will strengthen the audit capabilities of Zanzibar government officials to contribute to the establishment of transparent and good governance in Tanzania.

2022 Knowledge Dissemination in Youth Forum (02/07/2022)
On 2nd July, Mr. Kyucheol Eo, Country Director of KOICA Tanzania, Ms. Eun Heo, Deputy Country Director, and Mr. Christian, KOICA Intern, attended on Youth Forum held by AIESEC (International Association of Students in Economics and Business), in Santika Social Hall, Dar es Salaam. During the forum, Mr. Issa Ali Suleiman (Jumbi Secondary School’s Teacher) who attended KOICA Youth Mobility and Sports training explained the training program and conducted knowledge dissemination to more than a hundred attendees.

2022 KOICA Capacity Building for Senior Managers of the Education Sector Country Training (06~07/2022)
From 22 June to 5 July, Capacity Building for Senior Managers of the Education Sector Training was conducted as online training, in Golden Tulip Hotel, Dar es Salaam. It is aimed at exposing government officials of public schools and the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology on how to build better school life in Tanzania. It was operated by EDCN PLAN Education of the Republic of Korea.
Trainees learned various things such as the development direction of Education policy in Tanzania, the establishment of a big data-based statistical system for educational information, literacy instruction methodology, vocational training & education development policy & field management, STEAM curriculum & methodology, and strategy for the improvement of teacher competency. Also, they made an action plan by groups to present on the last day of training.
Also, there were field visits to online seminars by the Korea Education & Research Information Service (KERIS), the Korean Educational Development Institute, and the Busan National Science Museum to develop capacity building for government officials.

2022 KOICA Gender Mainstreaming and Women Empowerment (07~08/2022)
From 25 July to 3 August, Gender Mainstreaming and Women Empowerment Training was conducted as online training, in Golden Tulip Hotel, Dar es Salaam. It is aimed at exposing government officials on how to build women’s empowerment in Tanzania. It was operated by the IWFF (International Women & Family Foundation) of the Republic of Korea.
Trainees learned various things such as Gender Equality Policies in Korea, Empowering Rural Women and Policies for Supporting Start-ups and Employment, Gender-Integrated Leadership and Empowerment of Organizations, Global Gender Equality Norms and Standards, and Gender-Responsive Policies and Education in the Public Sector. Also, they made an action plan by groups to present on the last day of training.

2022 Nurturing and Empowering Rural Women Leaders in Tanzania (08~09/2022)
From 30 August to 5 September, Nurturing and Empowering Rural Women Leaders Training was conducted as online training at Golden Tulip Hotel, Dar es Salaam. It is aimed at exposing government officials on how to build women’s empowerment in rural areas. It was operated by Gyeong-sang-nam-do Agricultural Research & Extension Services of the Republic of Korea.
Trainees learned various things such as hydroponic vegetable cultivation, practical technologies in greenhouse crops, using rural resources of Korea, Beekeeping business and technologies, mushroom production, poultry business and management, and strawberry production technologies. Also, they made an action plan and gave a presentation on the last day of training.

2022 Multi-Year Training Program for TRC Staff on Operation and Maintenance of the Electrified Standard Gauge Railway Track, Train Systems, and Rolling Stock (10/2022)
From 10 to 14 October, a multi-year training program for TRC Staff on the Operation and Maintenance of the Electrified Standard Gauge Railway Track, Train Systems, and Rolling Stock was conducted in Holiday Inn, Dar es Salaam. 7 experts from Korea Railroad Corporation (KORAIL) came to Tanzania for this training. It is aimed at exposing government officials on how to build the capability to operate and maintain the electrified stand gauge railway track, train systems, and rolling stock. It was operated Korea Railroad Corporation of the Republic of Korea.
Trainees learned various things such as understanding and cooperation with railways and human resource development, railroad leadership and manpower management plan, development of railway vehicles in Korea, electric railway vehicle operation and maintenance, establishment, and operation of train operation plans for Korean railroad, electric vehicle driving and job training and prevention of electric shock and safety during work. Also, they made an action plan and gave a presentation on the last day of training.

2022 Youth Movement Operation & Youth Worker Training Enhancement Online Training Program (10/2022)
From 17 to 28 October, the Youth Movement Operation & Youth Worker Training Enhancement program was conducted as online training in Golden Tulip, Dar es Salaam. It is aimed at exposing government officials on how to build the capability to operate the youth movement and train youth workers. It was operated Korea Youth Work Agency (KYWA) of the Republic of Korea.
Trainees learned various things such as Korea’s youth laws & policies, Korea’s youth movement, cases of youth programs, youth self-directed activities, youth consultation system, and youth worker training center. Also, they made an action plan and gave a presentation on the last day of training.

2022 Korea Alumni Joint Workshop (26/11/2022)
On the 26th of November 2022, the Korea Alumni Joint Workshop was held in Four Point Sheraton Hotel Dar es Salaam. The purpose of this workshop was to establish a network among trainees who participated in training held by Korea. Deman Yussuf, KOICA Tanzania Alumni president, introduced KOICA and the activities of KOICA Tanzania Alumni. She mentioned that she hopes to explore specific ways to cooperate with other trainees, including KOFIH, in the future.
Also, the leader group of KOFIH Tanzania Alumni introduced their projects and capacity-building activities for 2022 and announced their 2023 promotion plan.
Furthermore, Ms. Judith Kindamba, a KGSP trainee of the Embassy shared her experience in Korea and career development using the result of her training.
