Zanzibar Seaweed Day

On the 23rd of July, the Zanzibar Seaweed Day Event was organized by the Zanzibar Seaweed Cluster Initiative (ZaSCI). The event was aimed at increasing awareness to the public to grasp the opportunities that are associated with the crop and the entire seaweed value chain. The theme was “Financing and innovation for sustainable seaweed markets.”

Furthermore, during the event, the knowledge dissemination seminar was conducted by Mr. Foum Ali. Garu. He shared his training experience and aquiculture development in South Korea. In particular, he provided some innovation cases in the seaweed industry in South Korea. He introduced a new project (Women Empowerment in Integrated Mariculture Value Chains in Zanzibar) that KOICA supports.
