
On 16th June, the first KOAT (KOICA Alumni Tanzania) activity was held at Kurasini Children’s Home located in Dar es Salaam in celebration of the International Day of the African Child.๐ Along with the donation ceremony of beds and other hygiene items, there was a hygiene education session conducted by WFK nursing volunteers, a safety training session from KOICA Safety Coordinator, Mr. Nobert Wilson, and a knowledge-sharing seminar from the President of KOAT, Dr. Deman Yusuf, about the welfare system in Tanzania and her scholarship experience in Korea. The event was further enriched by performances prepared by children in Kurasini Children’s Home and students from the Institute of Social Work (ISW).๐
Mr. Manshik Shin, Country Director at the KOICA Tanzania Office, delivered a message about the significance of the International Day of the African Child and expressed hopes for continuous support to the center. Later, in September 2023, there was the Hyundai Starex Mini Bus donation ceremony at the same center. Mr. Twaha Kibalula, manager of the Kurasini Children’s Home, expressed gratitude for the support from KOICA and KOAT and conveyed his desire for further collaboration opportunities.
